This video of two dudes replicating the Bellagio fountain with Mentos and Diet Coke is freaking awesome.
On my roommate’s birthday, we all went out for dinner and drank a lot and then went to a convenience store and bought Mentos and Diet Coke and then performed this experiment in the convenience store parking lot, so I can tell you that yes, it really does make a cool looking geyser. Ours was less impressive, though, since we didn’t have the Mentos all queued up or anything.

we took a whole pack of mentos dumped them in a 2 liter bottle of coke put the lid on shook the drink up threw the bottle down and the whole thing bottle and all shot off into the air like a rocket *pretty cool*
